Top 6 Amalie Arena Moments from the Past Year

Since we officially changed our name to Amalie Arena on September 3, 2014, you've helped us make some incredible memories. Here's a recap of the top six Amalie Arena moments from the past year:

 

6. More renovations 

Currently, we are putting the finishing touches on a $25 million renovation project, including new and revitalized concessions, a beautiful renovation of the new Tampa Bay Club Level, and new loge seating. 

5. Women's Final Four 

Amalie Arena, and our partners at the Tampa Bay Sports Commission played host to the NCAA Women's Final Four on April 5 and 7, 2015. The event included two games with a total of over 27,000 tickets sold. The Division I Women's National Championship went to the UConn Huskies, who edged out the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 91-77. 

4. 1.6 million tickets and counting 

Amalie Arena sold 1,610,437 tickets in the first year since being renamed. This includes numerous sold out Tampa Bay Lightning games and many sold out concerts including Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Jingle Ball, Maroon 5, RUSH, Sam Smith, Kevin Hart, Eric Church and more. 

3. Storm No. 1 in attendance 

The Tampa Bay Storm were recognized multiple times by the AFL, including the Arena Football League’s Commissioner’s Award (Tod Leiweke), the Support Staff of the Year Award, and boasted the highest attendance for any team in the AFL this year. 

2. Top Stop Worldwide 

Venues Today magazine  ranked Amalie Arena as a Top Stop in the World based on worldwide ticket sales for concerts, events and family shows in venues seating 15,001 or more. 

1. Eastern Conference Champions

The Tampa Bay Lightning complete one of the most successful regular seasons in franchise history, won the 2015 NHL Eastern Conference Championship, and played in the Stanley Cup Final against the Chicago Blackhawks.The Stanley Cup Playoffs run included beating the Detroit Red Wings, the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Rangers.
