Directions & Transportation

As our partners at Water Street Tampa continue to develop the 60 contiguous acres in the neighborhood surrounding AMALIE Arena, we ask for your patience and consideration when planning your visit to cheer on the Lightning or enjoy a concert or family show. We are pleased to report that the development project is well underway with a hotel and USF Health's Morsani College of Medicine in the midst of construction while we expect to see groundbreakings on several other projects. Roadways are being realigned, traffic patterns are changing and new transportation options are emerging - all with a vision of creating a more user-friendly environment in the blocks surrounding AMALIE Arena.

CURRENT CONSTRUCTION NOTICE ON JANUARY 16 - FEBRUARY 21:

morgan street closure

Morgan Street between Brorein Street and Channelside Drive will have one southbound lane open throughout the work period. The intent of the project is to reconstruct the roadway, drainage and sidewalks to better suite our changing vehicle and pedestrian traffic patterns. The work is expected to take place from 1/16/2020- 2/21/2020. If you are attending an event within this timeframe, please allow extra time for arrival and choose a route that avoids Morgan Street.

CURRENT CONSTRUCTION NOTICE ON FEBRUARY 17 - 25:

Starting on Monday, 2/17 a portion of Channelside Drive from Jefferson Street to Water Street needs to close to replace a failed water valve. The project is short in duration and should be completed before our next event on February 25. Your patience as we work to transform our Water Street District is much appreciated. Guests heading to the arena from the West along Channelside Drive will be forced to turn left onto Jefferson. The Arena Drop Off in front the building will remain open for guests needing to access the building. Guests traveling here from the East will see some lane adjustments but will be able to turn right onto Nebraska Ave.

As you plan your trip downtown, we aim to keep you informed of these new developments, offering you all you need to know about arriving at AMALIE safe and on time for your event.
