About the DoD Warrior Games

The Warrior Games will be held in Tampa Bay, June 21-30, and all athletic competitions are FREE and open to the public. The Paralympic-style athletic events will be held at venues throughout the community, including AMALIE Arena, Tampa Convention Center, Clearwater’s Long Aquatic Center and University of South Florida.

The Warrior Games were established in 2010 to demonstrate the incredible potential of wounded, ill and injured service members. U.S. Special Operations Command and the Tampa Bay area are co-hosting the 2019 Warrior Games and will feature 14 sporting events with over 300 athletes representing teams from the U.S. Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and U.S. Special Operations Command, as well as representatives from our ally nations, including the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Denmark and The Netherlands.

Parking + Transportation

As our partners at Water Street Tampa continue to develop the 60 contiguous acres in the neighborhood surrounding AMALIE Arena, we ask for your patience and consideration when planning your visit to cheer on the Lightning or enjoy a concert or family show. We are pleased to report that the development project is well underway with a hotel and USF Health's Morsani College of Medicine in the midst of construction while we expect to see groundbreakings on several other projects. Roadways are being realigned, traffic patterns are changing and new transportation options are emerging - all with a vision of creating a more user-friendly environment in the blocks surrounding AMALIE Arena.

As you plan your trip downtown, we aim to keep you informed of these new developments, offering you all you need to know about arriving at AMALIE safe and on time for your event.
